"I arrived at Amanda’s door in poor health, the climax of which was a stroke. Luckily, I recovered from the initial loss of my left side. Warned that I was at a high risk of having another stroke, I was bluntly told to lose weight, strongly advised to change my diet, NOT work, exercise and learn to relax. Having no desire to have another stroke and knowing my bad habits may linger, I sort help and luckily, and only by chance, I found Amanda on a website.
At first I was very apprehensive and felt uncomfortable with Amanda’s forthright attitude, coupled with the feeling I was making a big mistake. All gym stuff was utterly alien to me. To my surprise Amanda didn’t just stick me on a treadmill. On the contrary, she started by assessing my condition, my lifestyle, weight, diet and medication. This professional approach was to change my apprehension into admiration and point my whole lifestyle in a healthier direction. She referred me to a physiotherapist as I had a weakness on my left side, had a serious back problem and had a real issue with balance: I was prone to falling over, resulting in further trips to hospital.
My primary reason for seeking help was to avoid another stroke, not weight loss per se. But Amanda began advising me on dietary issues; foods to avoid and alternative foods. ‘You need to lose 5 stone’ she had said at the start. That sounded rather ridiculous, so I just laughed it off. But, when I thought it over, the prospect of changing all these bad habits was daunting and would be a major challenge. Yet, with her assistance I’ve managed to completely change the way I eat. I’m not on a diet, I eat differently! And along with a range of exercises I feel more energetic and have been able to reduce my medication. I no longer fall over. And now 10 months on and 4 stone lighter, I find myself smiling, it just seems surreal. Yes, it has taken some effort to drop my bad habits and adopt a healthier lifestyle. My motivation was/has been to avoid another stroke and to date I’ve had no reoccurrence. I continue to work and even manage a bit of relaxation.

I have been dieting on and off for most of my adult life and although I have joined several gyms over the years I have never felt motivated to go to them for longer than a couple of months. I have been seeing Mandy twice a week and it is a bit more expensive than a standard gym but nothing else has worked as well for me and what better way to spend my money than on my health and fitness. "I have been with Amanda for about 10 months now. I arrived with weak and painful arthritic knees in addition to other joints causing me trouble when I walked. I train twice a week with Amanda by my side guiding me and giving me exercises to do by myself at home. Which have been very beneficial.
